Privacy Policy

Sierra Window & Property Services ("Sierra Services", "we", "us") provides window cleaning, exterior cleaning, snow removal and other property services in Whistler and the Sea to Sky, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through sierraservices.ca, our online quote builder and our lead forms on Facebook and Instagram, how we use it, and the choices you have.

It also covers enquiries for our holiday lighting service, Sierra Lights, including the Sierra Lights lead forms on Facebook and Instagram. The Sierra Lights website has its own policy at sierralights.ca/privacy-policy.

We handle personal information in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you ask for a quote or contact us. Our contact form and quote builder ask for your name, email address, phone number and property address, plus details about the job: the services you are interested in, the type of property, your relationship to it (for example owner or property manager), preferred days and times for an assessment, when you would like the work done, whether you are a new or returning customer, how you heard about us and any notes you add. The quote builder also records the property size, the service options you choose and the estimate it shows you.

When you join our newsletter. Your email address.

When you use one of our lead forms on Facebook or Instagram. Your name, email address, phone number and your answers to the form's questions, such as your property address and the service or package you are interested in. Meta may fill some of these in for you from your profile; you can edit them before you submit.

When you email, call or message us. Whatever you choose to tell us.

When you visit the website. Like most websites, ours and the services listed under "Cookies and tracking" receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the page that sent you here.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and book an assessment.
• To schedule and carry out work, keep customer records, invoice and follow up on the service.
• To send our newsletter, if you signed up. Every newsletter lets you unsubscribe.
• To measure how well our website and advertising work, and to show our ads to people who have visited our website.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to our services.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses the following tools. Some of them set cookies, which are small files stored by your browser.

• Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms). Records page visits and when a form is submitted, so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show ads to people who have visited our site. Sets cookies such as _fbp.
• Google Ads tag (Google). Records when a form is submitted from an ad visit and builds advertising audiences of people who have visited our site. Sets cookies such as _gcl_au.
• Google Maps and Places (Google). Suggests addresses as you type in our forms, and shows a map on our contact page. What you type in the address field is sent to Google to find suggestions.
• Google Fonts (Google). Loads the fonts the website uses, which means Google receives your IP address.

Some parts of the website, such as the date picker in our forms and some of the site's files, are delivered by other providers' content delivery networks, which receive your IP address when they send them to your browser.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the website will still work. You can also manage how ads are shown to you in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences and in Google's My Ad Center.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need to do that:

• Google Workspace, for our email and the spreadsheets where enquiries are recorded.
• Our customer management software, where we keep customer, quote and job records.
• Cloudflare, which hosts our website and processes form submissions.
• Meta and Google, for advertising measurement as described above.
• Our website and marketing provider, which manages the website and our advertising and receives a copy of each enquiry to make sure it arrives.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond, quote and follow up. If you become a customer, we keep your records for as long as we provide services to you and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it;
• correct information that is wrong or out of date;
• stop sending you our newsletter or stop contacting you about a quote;
• delete your enquiry, unless we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

How we protect it

We limit access to the people who need it, use secure (HTTPS) connections on our website and use established providers who maintain their own security. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send us payment card details by email or through our forms.

Children

Our services are for property owners and managers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
